Halloween is truly upon us, but what is there to do this year in Wales for the annual spookfest? We’re here to help go through your options.
Halloween at The Silver Mountain Experience
The Silver Mountain Experience are running their annual Halloween event from October 23rd – 31st 2021. They will be offering a range of Halloween activities including some spooky twists on their guided tours, as well as pumpkin carving and so much more family fun.
Descend into the depths of a Victorian mine with Black Chasm: Unearthed and learn about the gruesome history of those who used to work there. You’ll also find out about Welsh myths and legends that surround the mine, with some spooky extra surprises just for Halloween! Make sure you don’t miss The Storyteller, one of their special shows just for this Halloween.
Don’t forget to take part in the Witches’ Brew Trick or Treat Trail, find all her missing potion ingredients and you might just earn a treat.
Jack the Ripper at Ultimate Xscape
Ultimate Xscape is the first Escape Room experience in Aberystwyth. If you don’t already know, an Escape Room is a real-life escape experience based on the Japanese online game, ‘Takagism’. Players are locked inside a themed room and need to work as a team to solve a series of puzzles, riddles and hints in order to escape within the 60-minute time limit.
Why not try their Jack the Ripper themed escape room? Set on a cold dark night in 1888, dare you follow in the footsteps of George Lusk, head of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee during a string of Whitechapel murders by a man known only as Leather Apron. Can you piece together all the clues, solve the case and find out who he is before he comes for you?
Terror Mountain for the very brave
Wales’ biggest Halloween event, Terror Mountain returns this October. Terror Mountain is based just outside Aberystwyth. At the unique event, you’ll experience a variety of terrifying live action horror attractions, that are designed to emulate scary experiences. It’ll get your blood pumping, adrenalin surging, and maybe some laughter too for good measure.
So, with five live action horror attractions, what’s on offer this year?
- The Summoning – Dare you take part in a Ouija board? Do you believe in the beyond? You’ll need nerves of steel to come face to face with the unknown.
- Retribution – Enter the inferno, and come face to face with dark, endless tunnels of torture and demons. With scares around every corner, you’ll be begging to return to the mortal world.
- NEW: The Coven – Enter the dark woods and see if you can spot the signs of witch activity. The dark maze will play tricks on your senses, and make you think you’ll never see the light of day again.
- Night Stalker – Take your seats and get ready to experience this thrilling show featuring lights, sound effects, a dead body and maybe a demon or two.
- NEW: Haunted LIVE – You’re taking part in a live ‘VLOG’ of a ghost hunt in one of the mine buildings. Do you believe in ghost? You may by the end of this terrifying ordeal!
